As we approach our 30th year in business, we were delighted to be part of a celebration of North East manufacturing and engineering at the Durham Oktoberfest 2017 and the Made in the North East Dinner events.
Organised by County Durham Engineering and Manufacturing Network (CDEMN) Durham Oktoberfest provides an annual opportunity for the engineering and manufacturing sectors to come together and demonstrate both their individual and collective capability with the aim of meeting new contacts, strengthening their network and ultimately winning new orders and generating sales.
This year’s theme was railway development and featured talks and presentations from Rail Alliance, Rail North, Newcastle University, North East Metro, Light Rail, Rail Supply Group and Hitachi Rail Europe.
Made in the North East was a black-tie dinner and networking event that celebrated local engineering and manufacturing industries.
John Holmes, managing director at Reprotec attended both events. He said: “The North East is at the forefront of innovation and I’m proud to be part of a sector that is made up of businesses that have earned our region a reputation for excellence in manufacturing and engineering.
“Reprotec is about to celebrate 30 years in business and it was fantastic to be part of the celebration of our sector at Durham Oktoberfest and Made in the North East. As well as finding out about the many exciting industry developments, it provided an opportunity to meet new business contacts.”
