Reprotec’s commitment to delivering sustainable solutions received international acclaim last year.
Our company won an International Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the International CSR Excellence Awards 2015, held at the Empire Casino in London’s Leicester Square.
Taking place on June 29, 2015, the awards highlighted companies’ achievements in corporate social responsibility. Reprotec competed against more than 200 other nominations and was among the winners from the building and construction sector.
Reprotec announced last year that it was the first company from the resin floor industry to divert 100 per cent of its waste from landfill. Instead of being sent to landfill, 96 per cent of waste from Reprotec’s projects is now recycled, with the remainder being used as fuel for power generation; several tonnes of material for each project would usually be sent to landfill sites otherwise – adding up to a substantial amount of landfill waste over the course of a year – and our company has taken a lead in overcoming this environmental challenge.
In addition, Reprotec’s ability to create long-lasting flooring solutions, which can be easily refurbished rather than having to be replaced, contributed to our company’s winning award entry.
Our strong sustainability credentials and technical expertise in this field also give our customers additional confidence in our services, as many of Reprotec’s clients are now committed to implementing sustainable building and construction processes.
Nick Megson, commercial director at Reprotec, said: “We were able to win this award because everyone at Reprotec, from staff working on site to the people at our offices, and at every level of the business, embraces our commitment to sustainability.
“Our workforce has bought into this ethos and to be recognised with an international award for our achievements in this field is hugely important to us.
“The International Corporate Social Responsibility Award has highlighted Reprotec’s work on a global stage and we are proud to be acknowledged as a leader in sustainability in the resin floor industry, and to be flying the flag for the North East.”
