Reprotec has been shortlisted for the small industrial project of the year award at the 2016 awards ceremony for FeRFA, the resin flooring association.
County Durham-based Reprotec in collaboration with Altro, a premium flooring provider, has been shortlisted for its work with Peterlee-based Walker Snack Foods. The award, which is sponsored by Huntsman Polyurethanes UK Ltd, looks to identify excellence in resin flooring in industrial projects, which cover less than 500m².
Over the past 5 years, Reprotec have been supporting Walker Snack Foods with resin flooring, liquid applied roof membranes and hygienic walling solutions. The project, for which Reprotec has been shortlisted, saw the company provide Walker Snack Foods with a breadth of services and expertise from problem identification and site surveying to the installation of Altro Flexi-flow plus, a sustainable flooring which covered 270 sq. metres over three floors. This method took approximately 50% less time and had a 40% cost saving compared to other methods previously used.
In line with Reprotec’s zero waste to landfill initiative, Reprotec halved the volume of materials used and halved the potential waste at the end of the products life expectancy.
Established in 1988, Reprotec specialises in providing cost effective, environmentally-friendly repair and protection solutions, using resin-based products to protect the fabric of buildings and increase their longevity. John Holmes, managing director at Reprotec, commented: “We pride ourselves on the high-quality of our work, so I am delighted that this project has been shortlisted for a FeRFA award.
“We are committed to delivering efficient and long lasting solutions to our customers. Aligning our zero waste to landfill initiative with Walker Snack Food’s environmental policies we were able to deliver cost and time savings as well as an easy to maintain, cost effective and sustainable flooring solution.”
